As we turn the page on 2018, we also turn the page on old kitchen trends. Out with the old styles and in with the new. If you are looking to remodel your kitchen or spruce it up a bit while keeping up with the trends then follow along.
Dark Colored Kitchens are in
Dark fixtures and hardware are growing in popularity. 2019 and beyond will see the all-white kitchen take a back seat to dark, shades of black, accented by shades of lighter neutral colors (think gray and khaki).
The darken trend doesn’t apply just for cabinetry but also hardware appliances such as ovens, refrigerators and more. For an instant sleeker and more modern look, choose black.
Incorporate Stone
Using natural stone beyond countertops is a kitchen trend to watch for in 2019. Natural stone is durable and it gives the home more of a natural look. Stone goes with most colors and ages beautifully over time.
Two Toned Kitchen
Mixing two colors or a color with wood is something most homeowners balk at. If done correctly it can really brighten the mood of the kitchen. Seeing cabinets paired upper vs lower can give a really unique look.
Quartz Countertops
Quartz countertops are a great alternative to granite countertops. For years granite was the material you wanted for your kitchen countertops but there was a drawback. Granite is porous. This allows liquids such as wine, oils or any other type of liquid to seep through the granite and stain it. Yes granite can be sealed with a sealant but Quartz does not need regular sealing maintenance.
Quartz is non-porous material and is extremely strong and durable. Quartz comes in many different colors, patterns and can now be purchased with a matte finished which is a highly desirable trend for 2019.
